Yesterday in our experiment we observed many reactions! Some reactions did chemical changes:

1. Change in colour
2. Bubbles produced
3. Solid dissolved
4. Solid produced

Chemical changes occur when bonds are broken and atoms are re-arranged. Something new is made.

Chemical Properties

A chemical property is how matter reacts with other matter.

• Fizzing,
• dissolving etc.

Physical Changes

Physical change is when the atoms/molecules are not changed inside matter. Nothing new is produced.

1. Change in texture
2. Change in shape
3. Change in state (liquid, gas, solid)

• A - Physical Change (no new molecules/compounds produced)
• B - Chemical Change (new molecules/compounds produced)

Physical Properties

A physical property is something measurable or observable about the matter.

• Density
• Colour
• Melting point
• Boiling point
• Conducts electricity
